We made a budget of only $500 stretch by using the father's old childhood bed and bookshelf. Wall paint in two shades of blue, the rug, clip-on lamp, bedspread and pillows are new. Colorful caps above the bed fill that space for free!
We framed amusing old T-shirts in inexpensive Plexiglas and hung them above a new chair and floor lamp from Ikea. An old bookcase was tucked into the newly painted closet to save space.
We found a secondhand dresser for $50, and added a cute lamp from Target. The "bulletin board" is simply foam core board screwed to the wall. The desk is a folding table. Valances and the duvet from Ikea were in the old room.
